22-02-2012On April 13, 2011 the FAA published TSO-C172 for cargo straps. TSO-C172 applies to Cargo Restraint Strap Assemblies intended to be used to restrain cargo on board aircraft during flight. As of December 29, 2011, ACL Airshop is the ONLY FAA Approved Manufacturer authorized to produce and mark restraint straps in accordance with TSO-C172. Do not risk being non-compliant. All of the straps we manufacture are now certified to TSO-C172. This standard requires us to assign a life span and print it on the TSO tag. This life span is 5 years from the month of manufacture.
The non-certified straps that we have produced in the past do not have an assigned life span…the manufacturing process and materials are exactly the same for both.
